Build

When building with Moore Design and Construct, clients will be guided through a structured and detailed process.
This ensures clarity, efficiency, and satisfaction for both client and builder. After finalising the building plans, we proceed with the six key phases of building your dream home.

The Build Process

01

CONSULTATION

The first step is to meet with Duncan for an initial consultation.
During this meeting, you'll discuss your vision, requirements, and any specific details about the project. This is the opportunity to share your ideas, preferences, and any constraints (budgetary, timeline, etc.) you might have. Duncan will provide advice, suggest solutions, and help refine your project to align with your goals.

02

ESTIMATION

Based on the consultation, Duncan will prepare an initial cost estimation.
This estimation will give you a rough idea of the financial investment required for your project. It covers the basic outline of costs associated with the construction, including materials, labor, and any other expenses that might arise.

03

TENDER

Once you've reviewed the initial estimation and have decided to move forward
The project details are sent out for tender. This process involves inviting bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and the selection of the best team for the job. It's a critical step for optimising cost and ensuring quality.

04

SIGNING

After receiving and agreeing to the construction proposal and finalising the project details, you'll enter into a contract with MDC.
The contract outlines the scope of work, timelines, costs, and any other legalities to ensure both parties are aligned. Once this contract is signed indemnity insurance can be obtained.

05

CONSTRUCTION

With the formalities out of the way, construction begins.
This phase is broken down into key milestones
Slab (Concreting)
The foundation of the project starts with laying the concrete slab. This is a crucial step as it supports the entire structure
Timber Framing
Once the slab is set, timber framing begins. This outlines the structure of the building, including walls and floors.
Roof + Windows
Following the framing, the roof is added along with the windows. This step starts to bring the project to life, making it weatherproof and secure.
Building to Lock-up
The project reaches a stage called "lock-up," which means the exterior is complete. Doors are installed, securing the site and allowing work to begin inside.
Internal Finishings
This phase involves all the interior work, including electrical, plumbing, plastering, and carpentry, leading up to the final finishes and fittings.

06

HANDOVER

Once all construction is complete and the internal finishings are installed, a final inspection is conducted to ensure everything is up to standard. Upon passing the inspection, the project is officially complete. Duncan will then hand over the keys, and you'll be ready to move to your newly built home.
Throughout each of these steps, MDC maintains open communication, providing updates and involving you in decisions to ensure the final outcome meets your expectations. This structured process ensures the journey from initial consultation to completion is smooth and fulfilling.
